Party Games

When it comes to kids birthdays we need not say how out of control it can get .Here are some Great ideas for games to play at your kid's  party ! This way not only you can keep them entertained but also keep them in order and in groups where you can handle the situation much better .

I and my friend recently had a party planned for my 9 year old cousin. The theme was angry birds. Kids love that. Specially boys . We had all the colors jumbled up every where together with colored angry bird faced helium balloons up to the ACTUAL GAME !

Yes. We created a scene with different sizes of card board boxes covered with brown paper. We also had red, blue and green colored balls to throw and  also had a strong sling shot made which was dug deep into the ground. This wasn't as simple as it sounds but once it was done, lets just say IT PAID OFF.
Not only did the kids play it, but their dad's also joined in. Isn't that great ?

I don't have pictures right now. But i ll upload them some time very soon .

Ok, so moving on with the LIST

first is

1-Bag target piñata game

Pinata games are a classic. But whats so different about this one ?
This is an easy everyday version of a pinata game (minus the sugar) that will use up some energy and help your kids practice gross motor skills at the same time.

What you need:

  • A bag made of strong paper, plastic or fabric
  • Newspaper
  • String
  • A wooden spoon

Activity:

Get your kids to help you tear up newspaper and roll it into balls to fill the punching bag. Stuff it nice and full (the tearing and scrunching is the best part for two year olds.)
When it's full, tie it tightly with string and attach a string to hang it from a hook or doorway.
The idea is simple: try to hit the bag with a wooden spoon. Your kids will shake out a lot of sillies using the bag as a target.

Hints and tips:

  • You could make a craft activity out of making your own simple drawstring bag and decorating it with a clown face for parties.

2-Balloon relay race

This game is fun for indoor and outdoor parties - just make sure you have a good stash of balloons before you begin just in case any of them unexpectedly pop in the rush of the game!

What you need:

  • Packet of balloons

Activity:

Instruct the children to stand in two single-file lines, facing forward.
Place a balloon between the knees of the first child in each line.
When the race starts, the first child on each team turns to face the next person in line.
The second child must grasp the balloon with his or her knees and turn to pass it on to the third person, and so on.
If the balloon falls to the ground, the team must start over. The first team to successfully pass the balloon down the line wins!

3-Birthday cake hunt

Kids love to hunt for surprises! So on your child’s big day, create a special hunt for the birthday cake! You will need the help of a few family members, neighbours or friends.

Number of players:

6+

What you need:

  • Clues
  • Party favours
  • Cake

Activity:

Separate the children into teams and give each team a set of clues and party favours to find.
Give each child a bag to put their favours in and make sure that each guest has at least one favour so nobody feels left out. The clues and favours should lead them to the location of the cake.
We recommend keeping the cake close at hand and under adult supervision. Excited children running through the house with a cake can be messy! The first team to locate the cake gets served first.

4-Eleven fingers trick

Magic tricks are a fun way to improve your child's cognitive thinking. Try teaching them this sneaky counting trick to play on unsuspecting friends and relatives.

Activity:

The effect:

By counting in a certain way, you can convince your friends that you have eleven fingers.

The trick:

Using your right forefinger to point with, touch each finger of your left hand, counting out loud: "One, two, three, four, five."
Then with your left forefinger, count the fingers on your right hand: "Six, seven, eight, nine, ten."
Say: "That's funny, I'm sure I had eleven fingers before. Let me try again."
This time count backwards, pointing to the fingers of the left hand: "Ten, nine, eight, seven, six..."
Hold up your left hand and say: "Six fingers on this hand..."
Then hold up your right hand and say: "Five fingers on this hand. Five plus six makes eleven!"

5-Cat and mouse

Looking for a great outdoor activity for the kids? Get them into a Cat and mouse game! It's a fast, fun and exciting game to keep the kids laughing and running at your next birthday party or family gathering.

Number of players:

6+

Activity:

Ask for two volunteers to play the cat and the mouse.
The other players should form a circle and hold hands.
The player who is the mouse should stand inside the circle and the cat should stand outside the circle.
The aim of the game is for the mouse to get outside the circle and avoid being caught by the cat.
The mouse must stay moving while inside the circle but cannot stay inside the circle for more than 10 seconds.
The cat cannot come into the circle but they can reach into the circle to grab the mouse.
The circle players have to try and keep the cat away from the mouse by holding up their hands to let the mouse in and out of the circle.
They can also block the cat's attempts to grab the mouse by standing in their way.
If the mouse is caught, the mouse becomes the new cat.
The old cat takes the place of a player holding hands and another player becomes the mouse.

if you like these ideas let me know with a comment and i ll get back to you with more creative and fun games .
